Executive Director 

Amy Bennett, MNO 

Amy has been with Heartland CASA since May of 2011.  Amy has a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Alabama and a Masters Degree in Nonprofit Management from the Mandel Center for Nonprofit Organizations at Case Western Reserve University.  Prior to moving to Grand Island, Amy served as the Director of Girl Programs and Adult Training for the Girl Scouts of North East Ohio in Cleveland. 

Amy is a board member of the Nebraska CASA Association, former board chair and member of the the Hall County Community Collaborative, is a volunteer with the Teammates of Grand Island, and teaches Sunday School at First Presbyterian Church .  She is also a recipient of the Grand Island Chamber of Commerce Top 35 under 35 and an alumnus of Hall County Leadership Tomorrow Class 27.

Amy is married to Matt Bennett, who is an architect with Cannon, Moss, Brygger Associates.  Amy and Matt have  3 children, son Chase and daughters Grace and Greta.  Amy and Matt also have 2 adorable dogs, Guthrie and Hamilton.

Bonnie Oltean

Bonnie Oltean is originally from Amarillo, TX and attended the University of Oklahoma, where she met her husband Shane. Shane is from Grand Island, so they moved back here shortly after graduating college. They live here with their two dogs Musket (Golden Retriever) and Chief (Blue Heeler). Bonnie loves to spend time with her family and friends and is an avid Sooner football fan. She also enjoys reading, cooking, and traveling to the mountains and beach.

Sarah Koch

Originally from Ogallala NE, Sarah grew up on Lake McConaughy. She went to college in Lincoln and obtained a degree in Dental Assisting, but never really found that passion for her future. After moving to Kearney, she met her husband Brandon, and eventually moved up to Spalding NE with their 2 dogs Pippi & Maggie.   They have one daughter Gracyn Elizabeth, who is 18 months old.  Sarah and her family moved to Grand Island in January of 2016, where she started working in marketing which she greatly enjoyed.  That led to her taking the position with Heartland CASA, which gives she feel now gives her purpose and helps drive that passion for helping others!

 Sandy Burris

Sandy has been with Heartland CASA since June of 2015. Sandy has been a resident of Grand Island since 1980. Sandy is married with three children, four granddaughters, and two great-grandsons. Sandy has a Bachelor's degree in Business Management. Sandy recently retired from Central Community College where she was Executive Assistant to the College President. Sandy has served on many community committees; including being a member of ACAP, helping Co-Chair the very first Children's Day, and being a graduate of Leadership Tomorrow Class 9.
